Abstract
An adaptive beamforming method based on dimension reduction is proposed, which uses curved-surface arrays to estimate the two-dimensional direction of arrival of underwater targets. The curved-surface array model is used to simplify the calculation of the array interpolation matrix. The dimension of adaptive beamforming is reduced by vertical and horizontal beam weighting,so as to realize the rapid estimation of the two-dimensional direction of arrival of the sound source. The simulation results show that the computational complexity of the proposed method is about an order of magnitude lower than that of the traditional two-dimensional minimum variance distortionless response beamforming method, and it has obvious advantages in noise suppression under low snapshot conditions. The lake trial data processing results verify that the proposed method has better target resolution performance in a complex underwater acoustic environment.
