Abstract
A multi-aperture far-field acoustic holography method has been proposed to obtain a better resolution in sound field visualization. Several small microphone arrays were used to form an equivalent large array according to certain optimization criterions. Firstly, the interference effect of adding multiple finite spatial windows to Kirchhoff diffraction integration acoustic holography was studied. Secondly, the main lobe widths and side lobe ratios were calculated, and the optimization criterions for placing multiple microphone arrays were stated. Then, the experiments with two loudspeakers were employed to validate the multi-aperture far-field acoustic holography method. It has been proved that the interference effect of multi-aperture array can be used to improve imaging resolution, and the proposed criterions can be used to obtain optimized resolution in the far-field.
