Chinese simultaneous masking measurement and their characteristics analysis

Abstract
Based on psychoacoustics detection,Chinese simultaneous masking thresholds were measured,where maskers were 4th to 22nd critical-bandwidth pink noises at the level of 60 dB and 80 dB,and maskees were pure tones whose frequencies were within and near the corresponding critical band.The characteristics of simultaneous masking were analyzed and discussed on the basis of the data,and were compared with the conclusions of related literatures.It was shown that the masking curves were more asymmetrical,and the difference between up and down slopes were larger as masker level increased.Average peaks of curves of different critical bands were distributed randomly,but did not decrease monotonously as previous model described.Suppression slopes generally decreased at high maskee frequency,which was remarkably different from previous measure results.
