Compensation to SNR of the object source by improving SNR of the guide source in source localization using virtual receiver technique

Abstract
Low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of the target source is the bottleneck of the sound source localization technology.In approximate range-independent shallow water environment,compared to Matched Field Processing (MFP) locahzation method,source localization using virtual receive method can reduce dependence on environment parameters and the acoustic field model,and at the same times avoid complex calculation.Locahzation results using virtual receiver method and guide sources with different SNR are analyzed.Improving SNR of the guide source can improve the clarity of the interference fringes to some extent,and thus improve the ranging accuracy.Improving SNR of the guide source can compensate SNR of the object source is another advantage of virtual receiver method of source localization.
