A high precision algorithm for dynamic focusing based on relative acoustic path difference in ultrasound imaging

  • Aiming at the problem of the extensive data storage and difficult to be implemented for dynamic receive focusing in ultrasound imaging, a method based on relative acoustic path difference is proposed. The core of this method is the decomposition and compression storage, and realization of high precision point-by-point focusing delay with realtime generation algorithm for focusing delay parameters. Take 16-channel 128-element convex array of transducers for example, the related mathematical derivation and the block diagram of point-by-point focusing module in FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) are given out. At last, the superiority of the proposed algorithm is analyzed and discussed.
