Abstract
A method to produce an appointed test signal in ultrasonic testing is proposed.Based on a given system, the exciting signal used to produce the desired test signal is obtained by adaptive filtering deconvolution.By inputting the exciting signal, the output of the system is the desired test signal. So this method can make test signals controllable and adjustable.Experiment results show that the linear frequency modulation test signal with a time bandwidth product nearly 33 and the one-period test signal with the signal noise ratio up to 18.1 dB are realized successfully. The influence of the system bandwidth on these test signals is also discussed. The simulation results indicate that the signal noise ratio of the test signals is higher as the system bandwidth is wider. The method is useful to produce test signals matched to test targets, thus the performance of ultrasonic test can be improved.
