  • According to the characteristics of the spatial distribution of the reverberation scatters, the property of the extension degree of the reverberation spectrum with respect to the range is analyzed, if the azimuth is specified. It's pointed out that the spectrum extension is severe in the near range. The space-time multiple-beam(STMB) processing approach is modified and extended, and a three dimensional STMB approach is presented to carry out the suppression of the moving sonar reverberation based on the space time characteristics of the reverberation. The presented algorithm is tested by the simulated reverberation, and the results show that the three dimensional STMB approach can achieve better detection performance than STMB and conventional approaches when the range of detection is several times than the sea depth.
