Focusing transform based robust azimuth angles estimation for wide-band signals

  • Focusing transform based minimum variance (FTMV) method is proposed as an estimation method of azimuth angles for wide-band signals. By focusing the wide-band array covariances on a narrow-band, the signal accumulation on azimuth is achieved, the azimuth angle estimation error caused by array turning is eliminated accordingly. The experimental results also show that FTMV method responses more quickly, has lower computational complexity, and is more robust than the traditional Minimum Variance Method (MV) method.
