  • To solve the problems of low SNR and own vessel interference in the estimation of propeller shaft rate, the shaft rate ML estimators of own vessel interference and target vessel are studied. A fuzzy system based shaft rate estimation method which employs the accumulation processing to increase the SNR and Doppler spread to distinguish the interference of own vessel is presented. Experiments using data recorded on sea show that the shaft rate estimation performance is improved.
