Force distribution and power transmission over a rectangular contact area subject to a uniform velocity excitation

Abstract
The force distribution and power transmission over a rectangular contact area of an infinite plate subject to a uniform velocity excitation are investigated. In this paper, the method of calculation of the force caused by uniform velocity is derived by means of a discretised model and the distribution of the forces over a contact area is calculated. The power transmission at every point within the contact area and the total power transmission of the whole contact area are also investigated under effects of the dimension of the contact area and the excitation frequency. The corresponding way to reduce power transmission between two connected structures is given.
