Calibration of hydrophones using optical technique

  • A test calibration facility for hydrophones has been described in the frequency range 10-200 kHz.The particle velocity in a sound field is measured by using a laser interferometer, then the acoustic pressure is derived from the measurement to determine the sensitivity of a hydrophone. As the influence of nonlinear or non-reciprocity of projector disappears, the overall uncertainty decreases to about 0.5 dB, meanwhile, the calibration process is simple and easy for operation.
