Experimental investigations of cavitation collapse noise

Abstract
The noise radiated by cavitation bubble collapsing near free surface or solid wall is studied experimentally.Cavitation bubble is generated using a Q-switched YAG impulse laser. The effects of the boundary properties and the distance between bubble and boundary,as well as the laser energy,on the acoustic radiation during cavitation bubble collapsing near free surface or solid wall are analyzed. The results are consistent with the classic experimental results of Vogel&Lauteborn and the author's numerical results.
