A simulation study on correlation equalization of underwater acoustic channels

Abstract
Correlation equalizer, a recursive-formed equalizer, is proposed in this paper which can eliminate the divergence caused by zero points of channel response function outside unit circle, and can suppress symbol interference theoretically in cases of most multiple path background. Its FIR form is also developed based on FFT and noncausal two-side prediction. Simulations show that the FIR correlation equalizer has good performances even on negative coherent multiple path conditions.
