Acoustic backscatter measurements of estuarine near-bed fine suspended sediment transport

This paper introduces the utility of acoustic backscatter sensor for studying estuarine nearbed fine suspended sediment transport.Measurements of cohesive suspended sediment concentration profiles in Changjiang Estuary and Hangzhou Bay demonstrate the capability of acoustic technique to obtain estuarine fine suspension profiles with a high temporal and spatial resolution.
