Abstract
In this paper, the problem of energy distribution of Rayleigh and Love waves in stratified media is investigated in three dimensions. The characteristic of energy propagation of cylindrical surface waves is analyzed in three dimensions.Surface waves are result of the interaction of the source with the interfaces. The power flux of the surface waves decays as the depth increases, and the maximum and minimum of the power flux possibly appears in some depths. With the numerical study it is found that the propagation velocity of energy of the surface wave is equal to that of the group velocity when the radial distance tends towards infinite. The effect to the energy distribution caused by frequency, depth, structure of the medium, and other parameters is also analyzed in the paper.
