Abstract
The MMP is an important method of source localization for detecting a distant underwater target.In this paper,a fast iteration method of mode decomposition which is an effective algorithm is presented.It has the fast convergence speed.Ailer the MMP with the iterative mode amplitade vector,the precisions of range and depth estimation are raised,and the sidelobes are suppressed.This method is used to reduce the length requirement of the vertical array,and has potantial application prospects.With the simulated calculation of the Pekeris model and Arctic Ocean sound channel,we prove that the new method of mode decomposition is reasonable and effective.The experiment of localization for a short vertical array has been successfully complated from a Qingdao site,Yellow Sea in December 1993.
