Overall evaluation for concert hall acoustics

  • By summing up the opinions of many experts about concert hall acoustics, this paper suggests a more complete factor set and more realistic membership functions for the fuzzy set evaluation of concert hall acoustics. The factor set includes the reverberation time RT, the mean forte sound pressure level LpF, the lateral efficiency LE, the frequency characteristic of early decay time|EDT(f)|, and Vmax(10lg LE), the maximum variation of 10 lg LE in a hall. An example shows the evaluation procedure in detail. It seems that the fuzzy set method is feasible for evaluating concert hall acoustics, because it can give a quantituhve evaluation result from the fuzziness basis.
