Depolarizing field in piezoelectric medium and its influence on the measurement of ultrasonic nonlinearity parameter

Calculation and experiment shew that the measured value of ultrasonic nonlinear ity parameter is lower than its normal one provided the polarizing field can partly penetrate the bottom surface of piezoelectric sample. It is also possible to determine nonlinear acoustic parameters of piezoelectric medium by detecting the nonlinear electric field accompanying with the nonlinear acoustic field.
