Vibrational modes of a non-circular bell with a church bell profile

  • The vibrational modes of an almond-shape bell,having the profile of a church bell,were studied using holographic interferomtry The non-circular shape results in mode pairs,one pair member having a node at the end of the bell the other an antinode.Frequency ratios between the mode pairs range from 0.94 to 1.21.
