Analysis of acoustic problems using general purpose programs

Acoustics-Mechanical Analogy method solving acoustic problems by using general purpose programs is introduced in this paper.This method allows to model acoustic medium by using solid elements.Applications of this method is illustrated through modal analysis of a 2-D acoustis cavity and transmission loss of an exhaust muffler element.The handle of boundary conditions and the formulation of acoustic particle velocity are given.
