Abstract
A specific signal processing scheme-digital time correlative accumulation and its application to shallow-water acoustic channel are here introduced. There are three parts in total, (I) the auto-correlative accumulation, (II) the cross-correlative accumulation, (III) the anti-multipath ability.
This paper discusses the first part. The statistic characteristics of the signal and noise are first analysed, then the principle and basic structure of the auto-correlative accumulation scheme are described. The detection probability, false-alarm probability and input (S/N) are estimated for some typical sonar systems. Theoritical estimations and experiments in site have proved that the scheme can be used in the acoustical channel with temporal-spacial variables, multipath and high noise level and have a performance tending to optimum detection system in radio channel.
