Abstract
Ultrasonic attenuation has been measured in liquid hydrogen with pulse echo method at 45 MHz as a function of temperature from 13.8 K to 20.5 K. The results indicate that the temperature dependence of ultrasonic attenuation in liquid hydrogen is mainly determined by volume viscosity effect. Ultrasonic attenuation due to volume viscosity and the ratio between volume .iscosity coefficient and shear viscosity coefficient increase with decreasing temperature.
