THE DISTRIBUTION OF SOUND SOURCE IN AN AXIALLYSYMMETRIC FULLY EXPANDED JET

  • Formulas, which can be used to calculate the distribution of sound source in an axiallysymmetric jet, were derived from the fundamental theory of hydrodynamics and Lighthill's quadrupole theory. Numerical calculations in a fully expanded jet and coaxial jets were performed with a computer. The coefficient of LighthilPs eighth power law was estimated. Theoretical results are in good agreement with corresponding experiments.
