THE ELASTIC MODULI OF α-LiLO3 CRYSTAL

  • Based on the linear piezoelectric coupling equation, the relations between the ultrasonic velocities and elastic moduli are obtained. The velocities of longitudinal and shear waves which propagate along different symmetry directions of α-LiIO3 crystal are determined by the pulse echo overlap method. The elastic moduli CijE and CijD are then deduced, the values of which (×10-10N/m2) are
    C11E = 8.293 C13E = 2.862 C33E = 5.68 C44E = 1.78 C66E= 2.489
    C11D =8.384 C13D = 3.264 C33D = 7.256 C14D = 2.84 C66D = 2.489
