Abstract

The consonance of state variables of a piezoelectric body is explored and four variational principles of a piezoelectric body are systematically proposed. The Lagrangian of each of these principles is the difference between a thermodynamic function and the corresponding kinetic energy. These principles correspond to different physical conditions and are to be used in different problems. Their applications are discussed.
