EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON THE USE OF X-CUT CRYSTAL QUARTZ AS TRANSDUCERS FOR ULTRASONIC HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGING

Abstract
Initial results of imaging biological, medical and industrial material samples by ultrasonic holographic system using crystal quartz as a transducer were investigated. The resolution attained is 1 mm at 3 MHz of ultrasonic frequency. The field of riew is 120 mm × 120 mm. The crystal quartz is artificially grown and is 0 X-Cut, and the transducer is of an air backed soft mounted sealed structure. The fundamental frequency is 1 MHz and is operated on 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th harmonics.
