METHOD OF ACOUSTO-OPTIC SYNCHRONISM FOR ACOUSTIC VELOCITY MEASUREMENT

  • This paper presents a convenient yet accurate method for the measurement of acoustic velocity, the method of acausto-optic synchronism. The main advantage of this method is its intuitional process, Besides being capable of measuring the velocity in gases, liquids and solids, it can also measure the velocity between two internal points of a transparent solid. The basic principle, measuring equipment, test results and primary error analysis are described.
