Abstract: In this paper the latest progress in the study of speech acoustics is presented.First the production,acoustic analysis and perception of speech by humans are introduced.Then the processing of speech by computers,including speech recognition and synthesis,pronunciation and singing evaluation,are covered in depth.Related applications are also mentioned.Finally we give some brief summary and outlook for future work.
