Abstract: We develop the power-law processor operating on higher-order spectrum domain and apply the method to detect underwater transient acoustic signals. The simulation examples and experimental results indicate that the proposed power-law detector based higher-order spectrum outperforms conventional detectors used to detect non-Gaussian transient signals.
