Abstract: A method was proposed to analyse the vortex using pulsed Doppler techniques.The vortex shffe wavform was first obtained from the estimated mean frequency waveform using a suitable filter.The vortex shedding frequency,amplitude and maximum rotational velocity were then calculated.This method was demonstrated on in vitro Doppler signals recorded from both steady and pulsatile flow using a Karman vortex generator.
