衍射理论在回声形成中的应用

AN APPLICATION OF DIFFRACTION THEORY TO ECHO FORMATION

  • 摘要: 本文用衍射理论处理回声形成的问题。这一方法克服了过去被普遍接受的象脉冲理论的一些缺陷。应用衍射理论能够很方便地对回声形成的现象作出清晰的物理解释,它能导出不同材料所制成的目标的不同回声特性,给出光滑曲面上形成回声的正确结果。在这些方面,象脉冲理论遇到了严重的困难。
    原则上,只要找到了相应的衍射问题的解,所讨论的回声形成问题也就得到了解决。实验结果有力地支持了这一处理方法。

     

    Abstract: Diffraction theory is applied to treat echo-formation problems in this paper. This overcomes some drawbacks of the previously accepted image pulse theory. The new approach provides a comprehensive physical interpretation to the mechanism of echo formation. It predicts different echo behaviour for objects made of different materials, and gives correct results to problems of echo formation by smoothly curved surfaces. In these aspects, the previous theory breaks down. In principle, the diffraction approach can tackle any echo-formation problem so long as there exists a solution to the relevant configuration of diffraction. The method is strongly supported by experimental results.
