Abstract:
The standing water waves excited by marine storms may radiate infrasonic waves. Several infrasonic stations were established, in Pujian Province, and infrasonic signals generated by typhoon were recorded. In this paper, the methods and results of infrasonic wave measurements and method of direction finding with infrasonic waves are described. Usually, the errors were within ±3°, sometimes as high as 6°. The results show that the detection of typhoon and its direction finding by this method is feasible.
