Abstract: The developments of thermoacoustic engine were introduced in brief.Then the works on the optimization of miniature thermoacoustic coolers were introduced in detail.The results show that an optimized high frequency ther- moacoustic cooler can reach cooling power density levels of a few hundred watts per square centimeter,with applications to laser cooling,electric cooling,and other application s needing thermal management.
