Three-dimensional beamforming with the scattering of spherical shell for inclined small aperture array of vector sensors

  • 摘要: 在阵体倾斜、球壳散射引起的方位依赖幅相误差和固定幅相误差同时存在的情况下, 建立了一种基于小尺度矢量平面阵的三维波束形成方法。首先使用球谐波函数展开统一了矢量阵各通道接收数据的表达式, 再利用多个辅助声源求解出球谐波函数展开系数, 通过联立阵列波束输出与理想波束响应表达式, 最终实现了三维波束形成并利用波束扫描实现了目标方位估计。理论和仿真结果验证了算法的可行性, 该算法基于矢量阵实现, 阵型相同时相比声压阵具有更高的稳健性, 且辅助声源布放越分散, 算法稳健性越高。

     

    Abstract: An efficient three-dimensional beamforming method applied to an inclined small aperture planar array of vector sensors (SAPAVS) is proposed to solve the problems of direction-dependent gain-phase error caused by the scattering of a spherical shell and fixed gain-phase error. Firstly, the expressions of received signals for each channel are unified with the assistance of the spherical harmonic expansion method. Subsequently, the coefficients of spherical harmonic expansions can be determined by employing several auxiliary sources based on these expressions. Finally, the three-dimensional beamforming method is obtained by combining the SAPAVS expression and the ideal beam response, enabling the realization of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. The agreement between the theoretical and simulated results demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed method. Under the same array geometry, compared to the pressure sensor array, the proposed method based on the vector sensor array will have higher robustness. Moreover, as the auxiliary sound sources are more dispersed, the robustness of the algorithm will be further enhanced.
